Hello Everyone
And this is a warm hello from The Waterfront Boutique Hotel & Café which nestles amongst the palm trees of Bophut beach, looking out over the sea to Koh Phangan, Koh Som and, in the distance, Koh Tao, all part of one of the many archipelagos in the Gulf of Thailand. It’s a dreamy spot. Paradise in a nutshell. Or rather, a coconut shell. A place to visit to really relax, to rekindle one’s spirit, to fire one’s batteries, to appreciate the beauty and basics of life. A retreat with home comforts, if you like. The sleepy village of Bophut is the jewel in Samui’s crown. Mainly, it’s a street parallel to the beach, flanked by excellent restaurants, bars, boutiques and spas. No loud music. No girly bars. Just everything you would need on a relaxing holiday. You can venture further, (and there are many activities to do and sights to see), but not many guests do. Those who do make the effort nearly always say that they’re pleased they’ve ‘got that out of the way’ because they can now spend the rest of the time at the hotel and in the village. It’s happened so many times.
We have eighteen rooms and bungalows, all overlooking the beach and all kept in tip-top condition. Even though the accommodation is all just steps from the beach, the pool, the bar and the dining areas which are on the decking at the beach or in our reception, the hotel is wonderfully peaceful. There are also staff 24 hours a day to help make your holiday a happy one and to answer any queries you may have.
We have marvellous guests who may have been here many times before. If you wish, they will be happy to chat and even give you tips on restaurants or venues to visit. You may find that, not only do you leave with good memories, but also with new friendships and dates fixed to meet one another here again next year.
As usual, the plans for the Walking Street are still on hold. I mentioned recently that the powers that be were talking about holding this market on a daily basis, not just Fridays. Well, it has still only been occurring on a Friday and in a smaller version too. This is probably because it was decreed that only local stallholders were allowed and, no doubt before, many came from other regions.
Our little Fon is back, having given birth to her second child. Congratulations to her and a big thank you for coming back to join us once again. She really is a great credit to us.
Guests Sue & Tom and Torvill & Stig are back yet again, two couples who have been staying with us for many years and who have now become good friends. Remember what I said above? It’s great to have them again. Also wonderful to see back are Robyn and her sisters. Recently, we had Hayley’s brother-in-law, Ryan, and his family staying. Hayley has stayed with us many times and I believe we have convinced Ryan of the pleasures of Samui too.
If you have not ventured to Thailand as yet, this is a great place to start. If you have, we’re sure you’d enjoy the peace and pleasures of our little village and island. If you have stayed with us before, we very much look forward to seeing you again.
Remember, travel is the only thing you buy that makes you richer. (Anon).
Until the next time, take good care of yourselves.
Sue
