Hello Everyone!
And a very happy February to you too! This is a favourite month for returnee guests and much fun is had by all. If you ever want to feel part of a community on holiday, this is the month and this is the place. Nobody intrudes on your privacy, of course, it’s just that so many guests have been before and, mostly, they know each other which bodes well for a real community spirit. This doesn’t mean that newbies are left out, in fact quite the opposite as they are welcomed into the fold and quickly feel part of it all. There’s lots of conversation, laughter and the odd tipple or two. Some even dine out together and often friendships continue throughout the year. This returnee period actually starts in January and often carries on until the end of April, but February is the major time. As I shall not be there myself this year, I send our guests and friends, old and new, lots of love and best wishes for a very happy holiday. Of course, Robin will be there with our excellent staff and, quite honestly, you couldn’t be in better hands.
I spoke of Peter & Dot last month as Peter was unwell. Those of you who know and love this colourful character, especially when he’s wearing his swimming shorts, will be pleased to hear that he is improving as we speak and looking forward to an April sojourn in Cyprus with the delightful Dot whom, I am sure, has been the deciding factor in his recovery. They have actually invited me to stay in the Spring and I am really looking forward to it.
If you haven’t been to our little hotel before, we have eighteen rooms and bungalows right at the beach with fantastic views of the sea and outlying islands. Have a look at the accommodation on our website – www.thewaterfrontbophut.com – and I’m sure you’ll find something fantastic to meet your needs. If you’re not sure, need help or advice or wish to book direct, send your prospective dates to robin@thewaterfrontbophut.com and he’ll write straight back with our availability and answers to your questions. Of course, you can book on our Bookings page too. Don’t forget that agents, whose prices are exactly the same as ours, do not always show all our availability and are not able to offer that personal touch so favoured by our little hotel.
Again, if you haven’t been here before, we are actually in Fisherman’s Village which is the charming part of Bophut – Bophut has a huge postal area, so be careful when you’re doing your research. Its little main street is parallel to the sea and boasts wonderful restaurants, bars, boutiques and spas as well as the ever popular Friday Walking Street, the best market on the island from all accounts. A saunter along there will offer much culinary delight and it isn’t far to walk back if you find that, by mistake of course, you partake of one or two glasses more than intended which is quite easily done, take it from me.
There are many excellent beaches and exquisite views to appreciate in Samui. There are also many tours and trips, just ask our reception who will be pleased to advise you. Other guests are always ready to recommend too, especially restaurants, so do ask them as they’ll be pleased to give you the benefit of their experience.
It’s snowy where I am. But that’s fine. Life is full of wonder, if you make the most of it. I read Paul Coelho’s words again recently: ‘One day you will wake up and there won’t be any more time to do the things you’ve always wanted. Do it now.’
Until the next time, look after yourselves.
Best wishes
Sue
