How are you? Getting a little bit worn out on the treadmill or longing for a break from routine? Perhaps you’d love to spend more time with your extended family, especially if they live in another country, but don’t really want to stay with them or have them to come and stay with you? Whatever the reason, The Waterfront has the answer.
We have eighteen rooms of different categories for family, couples and honeymooners. Singles are most welcome too, in fact we have many singles who love staying as they make so many friends. We have families whose offspring were small children when they first came, but are now at university and we’ve seen some of those university students return with their own partners and friends. Then there have been honeymooners who now have children and couples who now have grandchildren. We’ve been here thirteen years in August and have met so many wonderful people and seen so many wonderful things. Our own children, Charlotte and Michael, were 11 and 18 respectively when we came here to live and are 24 and 31 now. Even Michael’s little girl is 6. Robin and I delude ourselves into thinking that we’ll never change, of course!
Our staff are all long stayers and they love their life here. They’re really excited to see guests again and even keep in touch with some of them on Facebook. The guests love their welcome too. No impersonal attitude here. We’re a family run, close knit team and all our guests are important to us.
Tom & Sue are back again just now and Stig & Torrill are due shortly – four regulars and real Waterfront stock. Such a pleasure to welcome them again and we hope they enjoy themselves. They do love it here and we’re so pleased and proud that they do.
There was no Walking Street on Friday for the third week running. The first two weeks had been due to local politics we’d heard, but then the father of one of the organisers sadly died and the market this week was cancelled out of respect. We hope that all will be back to normal next week as we know that our guests really enjoy their Friday market.
Fell in love last night with 2Cellos. Have you seen or heard of them? They’re terrific! Two young male cellists from Croatia who play their instruments with such skill, finesse and emotion. Look them up on You Tube. Try listening to Benedictus first – so beautiful – then Smooth Criminal, then everything else in between. I was watching and listening in sheer bliss until 4am. Unbelievable talent!
Have you been thinking of getting away? Why not come and spend a relaxing break at our little beach hotel? Send Robin your prospective dates and he’ll write straight back with our availability.
We’d love to see you!
Take care until the next time.
