Hello Everybody!

Great to speak to you again! Hope things are going well for you and that you’re enjoying life.
For those of you looking at our site for the first time, we have a lovely 18-roomed hotel right at the beach in Bophut’s charming Fisherman’s Village on Koh Samui, (see the main photo on our home page). It is run by my husband, Robin, myself, and presently our daughter, Charlotte. Our son, Michael, has been involved for many years and hopes to return soon. We celebrate our 14th anniversary of having the hotel on 7 August and the original four staff who were there then are still here now, although two are about to retire. The rest of our staff have also been with us for years, so it is like having one big family. We are very lucky indeed. Our return guests love to see the same staff and the feeling is definitely mutual. We all love to welcome guests, old and new, and every single one is important to us. As I’ve said many times before, you are not a number here. This is not an impersonal 5-star. This is a home from home in which new friendships are kindled and old ones grow and grow. Lots of our guests keep in contact with each other throughout the year and some even book their next holiday at the same time. Everybody is welcoming and although you don’t have to speak to anyone if you don’t wish to and your privacy is always respected, you will certainly miss out if you don’t succumb to the odd chat at least!

We are at the peaceful end of a delightful street which is adjacent to the beach and which is made up of excellent restaurants, bars, spas and boutiques. Each little property has its own charm and we recommend that you visit as many as possible to experience a rich and exciting stay. We serve a great cooked to order breakfast ourselves with a hugely varied menu the rest of the day until 6pm, but the village beckons during the evening and we think you’ll just love it.

In the past month, we’ve had lots of happy guests who’ve stayed before, visited for the first time or have been recommended by friends. We’ve also received lots of great reviews on agents’ sites, but may we ask those very kind people to repost those reviews on Trip Advisor for us, please? Prospective guests do tend to look on Trip Advisor and it obviously helps if we can keep as high in the ratings as possible.

At different times of the year, we have to ask guests to stay a certain minimum of nights in some rooms. However, if you are looking to stay and find that our direct booking page or the agents tell you that this is not possible, please write to us anyway as it could be that we can fit you in. We always do our best to accommodate you but, if we cannot, we’ll offer alternative rooms or dates, if possible.

Monday I awoke and thought that it was definitely the day to start running. I have dabbled a bit over the years, but now I am hoping to seriously keep it up. Over a couple of miles that day, over a couple yesterday – half walk, half run, as yet, – and over three miles today leaves me feeling pleased. Early days, I know, but I like to have a project and I hope this is one to stay. I am thinking of adding cycling too and swimming is lurking in the background, but I’ll see about that. I certainly have the opportunity in our wonderful saline pool or, indeed, the sea with its breathtaking view of the outlying islands.
