Hi everyone! Two weeks has flown by yet again. If your last two weeks have been as busy as mine, then you certainly deserve a rest. And I can’t think of a better place to relax than at our hotel in beautiful, sunny Koh Samui. Have a look on our website above and see what you think. It’s pretty quiet on the island just now, but the weather is glorious so a quick break would recharge your batteries, that’s for sure. The prices are really good too because it’s low season. If you can’t get away just now, then think about coming in the future. Christmas and February are pretty busy, but there are a few spaces left at other times. We’d love to see you!
The staff are working to their usual low season schedule of renewing, repairing and updating. We pride ourselves on keeping our little hotel in the best condition we can for our guests. Upkeep has to be constant in any climate, but our little island with its almost continual sun, occasional heavy rain and sea air makes the ritual imperative. I always feel so excited when I see a new hotel and then so sad when I return, perhaps only six months later, and see it looking very sad and in great need of an overhaul, especially when loo seats are broken, taps are not working or doors not closing properly which is just laziness. Such things are so easy to fix and I notice that their tariff is still the same! I have said this before I know, but a family-run hotel immediately takes care of the day to day repairs and then plans for the larger projects, knowing that presentation is a very important part of hotel life. If we can’t be bothered, why should you?
Our son, Michael, is starting to work as a courier in the UK this week. He has his spanking new transport, special insurance, excellent sat nav app and Homer’s voice to guide him on his way. If you are a fan of The Simpsons, then you will know very well who he is. I have been a passenger already, well a personal assistant really, ha, ha, and Homer is fantastic! Michael is very keen and should be on his first journey anytime now.
Many of you will know that I post these notes onto Facebook too and I’m touched by the lovely comments that many of you have left me on Messenger. I’d love as many people as possible to know about us through social media so, if you have friends who are looking for a great holiday, please tell them about us. We’ve been going for eleven years and have had some marvellous guests, many of whom come back again and again. We are very proud of our little hotel and, consequently, we should like more lovely guests to come and see it for themselves. It doesn’t matter what you do, what age you are or what your nationality is. As Mark Darcy said to Bridget Jones: you are perfect, just the way you are . .
Following on from this, I shall be putting a video on YouTube in the not too distant future. If you have been to stay with us in the past, would you like to make a short tribute video and send it to us so that I may include it in ours? I can’t promise that I shall be able to include them all in the first one, but I intend to make more than one anyway.
The bookings are coming in thick and fast, so don’t miss the boat, or any other form of transport for that matter. Just send Robin your prospective dates in an e-mail or fill in the booking form on this website and he’ll write straight back with our availability.
And you could be Samuied in no time . . .
Until the next post, take very good care of yourselves.
