#The Waterfront Boutique Beach Hotel & Cafe, Bophut, Fisherman’s Village, Koh Samui, Thailand
Another breathtaking view through the bar and swimming pool area out to the islands beyond.
Hello! Hope you are all enjoying life!
For those of you who haven’t stayed at our little hotel, we have eighteen rooms looking out to a breathtaking view of the beach, sea and outlying islands. We’re also just a saunter away from excellent restaurants, bars and boutiques in our charming Fisherman’s Village of Bophut and we are family-run with Thai staff, all of whom have been with us for years. Guests truly become friends and they come back again and again and again. Perhaps you’d like to come and see what it is that brings them back?
We’ve had some absolutely wonderful guests here. Some are here for the first time and some are here for the tenth time. We’ve had over twenty returning rooms over the past few weeks and have Steve & Rosie, Jan & Bob, Sue & John, Jack & Annie, Michael & Jayne with Doug & Chris here just now and Ian & Rosemary, Paul & Jan and Ritchie, Nicky, Dylan & Delilah coming shortly. Rachel and family are coming too at the recommendation of Suzie, thank you Suzie, hope you and the family are well, and Marilyn & Alan were here at the recommendation of Lee & Karen, thank you Lee & Karen, hope you are well too and good luck with your new home. It was lovely seeing Stewart & Janice for so long this year and we very much look forward to welcoming them again with, hopefully, Ronnie & Anne, (thank you, Anne, for a lovely review on Trip Advisor), and Graham & Jennifer. We also hope that Stewart returns to feeling 100% very, very shortly. Rosie & Steve brought me a Norfolk magazine which I devoured. It was actually from one of these magazines that they first learned about us and vowed that they’d visit one day. I think this is their sixth year and we are so pleased they found us. In fact, we went to Beach Republic with them for a Sunday Buffet Lunch today which was exceptional, as usual, (book early in the week if you wish to go). It’s been fantastic as nearly all of our guests have been telling us that our hotel is better than ever this year and many have booked straightaway for next, so we are very pleased and privileged that this is the case. Carol & John, the couple I mentioned last time, put what we and many others feel was an unrealistic and completely unfair opinion of us on Trip Advisor and have also decided not to return. I am sure all the guests who stay at this time of the year will join with me in sending them our very best wishes for the future.
For those of you who are interested in Norwich City Football, recently we beat Ipswich, then very disappointingly lost to Wigan, beat Millwall and everything was crossed to beat Derby last night, but we only managed a draw although that’s much better than losing, I suppose! Robin looked so devastated when Derby equalized and his new delivery of Walker’s crisps, (very kindly brought from the UK by Sue & John and Jack & Annie), didn’t soothe him at all . . .
On Wednesday evening, having searched for something around the pool and also in our pool cushion store, I quickly turned to walk down the step there when I fell with a thud and sprained both my ankles, yes, both of them and, no, it was not alcohol induced. So, I am sitting here today, having had a couple of days off because I couldn’t even walk, with my feet in bandages and, wait for it, Robin’s shoes. Not a very becoming look, I have to say, and not one I wish to continue with for very long, but it could have been so much worse, of course. And I have to say that our Bangkok Samui Hospital comes up trumps every time with their quick, thorough and caring service.
Friday Walking Street was good again this week. Our cook, known as Cooking, sells out quite quickly so, if you wish to visit her stall for dinner, you need to get there early too. There are lots of lovely things on sale all along the street and there’s a great atmosphere what with the live music and cocktails, etc. If you arrive on a Friday, however, our car has to park outside the actual Walking Street so you’ll have to walk the last hundred or so metres to the hotel, but we’ll bring the luggage, don’t worry!. Also, it is a bit noisy that evening too, but it’s all good fun and the rest of the week is normally peaceful.
The weather has been superb, Koh Phangan has been on view again for over a week and the flowers are blooming beautifully. The sea is taking on its familiar aquamarine glow and we have English, Malaysian, Norwegian, Australian, Canadian, Israeli, German and Irish all going about their daily life with a big, fat smile on their face. Couldn’t be better.
If you’d like to come and relax at our little hotel, just fill out the form on our website’s Bookings Page or e-mail Robin at firstname.lastname@example.org with your preferred dates and he’ll write straight back with our availability.
We look forward to seeing you.
