“Summer is the time when one sheds one’s tensions with one’s clothes and the right kind of day is jewelled balm for the battered spirit. A few of those days and you can become drunk with the belief that all’s right with the world.”
– Ada Louise Huxtable
From all accounts, many of our guests are feeling this way. They have been enjoying a sunny Samui when the island is at its most beautiful and our stunning view is at its clearest – you feel that you can almost count the trees on Koh Phangan which is actually 15 km across the sea, 30 minutes by boat. There’s also Koh Som to the right and Koh Tao much further away to the left, a boat journey of two and a half hours where fantastic diving can be found or Koh Nang Yuan close by for glorious snorkelling.
Or you can just stand and stare from our beach or laze on our many sun beds, perhaps fall into our saline swimming pool to cool off or swim those lengths to keep that waistline at its best. Then relax on our comfy chairs and footstools under the sun umbrellas or stretch out for a massage under the sala. Feeling a bit peckish? Choose from our varied menu and try a new Thai dish with a glass of wine or sit at the bar and quench your thirst with a cold beer. Then later stroll into the village and sample the many bars, boutiques and excellent restaurants on offer for dinner. It’s all here waiting for you.
We have eighteen rooms and bungalows all just steps from the beach. They’re freshly decorated with queen or king size beds, a tv, dvd, tea/coffee-making facilities, a fridge, mini-bar, adaptor, bath towels, air-con and fan and cleaned daily by our lovely room maids. Our reception, bar and kitchen staff also do their best to make your visit unforgettable. I may have mentioned before that our guest room maid, Khun Serm, is now a receptionist. She is loving her new role and is doing a fantastic job. We’re very proud of her.
Susan, Tom, Billy and Liz are back yet again and have been enjoying themselves, as usual. Most unfortunately, however, Susan has lost a very close relative and so she and Tom are going home early. We offer them our most sincere condolences during such a sad time. Peter and Tony have also been back, this time with Peter’s sister, Ann, and her husband, Gavin, plus two very dear friends, Shayne and Davin. Signe and Arild are staying 25 nights with their three lovely children in our Family Apartment and Stig, Torill are back again with their friends, Lars and Kjell, in fact Stig and Torill have already said that they’re coming back next year. Jordann stayed 12 years ago so it was great to see her again and with her boyfriend too. Paul and Jan will be back again soon – they’re up to two visits a year now! Always good to hear their news and I’m sure there’ll be lots this time.
So, life goes on in our little hotel. We love to meet new guests and so look forward to seeing them when they return and many do, time and time again. Why not come to see us too? Just send Robin an e-mail with your prospective dates to firstname.lastname@example.org or complete the bookings form on our website and he’ll write straight back with our availability.
Until the next time, think about enjoying some jewelled balm for the battered spirit. We’d love to see you!
Very best wishes
