I hope you’re all keeping well. Every time I type a new month, I am shocked at just how tempus fugit. Why does it go so quickly? We really, really must make the most of it all, don’t you think? I feel as though I’m spending most of my time trying to tick urgent items off a never ending list, but is it right that all these things should take precedence over my own enjoyment and well being? I’m of the mind that you should get all the work finished and then relax, but I find that I don’t ever seem to reach the ultimate goal. On reflection, perhaps I should only spend so much time a day on those items and make my own enjoyment a priority. Yes! I’ll put that on the list and definitely at the top.
A very important thing to consider, of course, is a holiday. And where better than our little hotel which nestles right on the seafront in the charming village of Bophut? It has just eighteen rooms so is far more personal than an enormous five-star where you’re just a number. There’s a saline swimming pool surrounded by comfortable chairs and footstools and there are lots of sun beds down on the beach. Overlooking the beach, we have a decking area where you can enjoy your breakfast and all day dining and a beach/pool bar which overlooks the whole site. Our reception area has a computer room and a library, a sofa and chairs and some tables so you can eat inside too, if you wish. Our mature gardens also have comfortable chairs and footstools and there’s room for a table tennis table there which has seen some stiff competition in its time.
If you feel that you’ve had too much rest and relaxation, there are lots of activities to enjoy on Koh Samui ranging from paragliding to deep sea diving, sand surfing to zipline canopy riding and cooking to learning to speaking Thai. You can hire a car, or a car with a driver, and explore the island or you can go on a boat trip around the island or to other islands. There are also lots and lots of fantastic restaurants in every price range. Then there’s our Friday Walking Market which is very popular.
Our staff has been with us for years so they’re happy in their work and we have lots of returning guests so they must enjoy it too. Consequently, it’s a good place to come to on your own or with friends and, nine times out of ten, you’ll meet new friends as well. We’ve made lots of friends over the years and it’s such a joy to welcome them back. It’s also a joy to welcome new guests too, of course, and fantastic to hear them all saying how much they have enjoyed their stay. Ben & Kate stayed with us six or seven years ago and just returned with their young family. They said that they enjoyed it just as much as before and had a fantastic time. Paul & Jan will be here again this week and we’re really looking forward to seeing them and catching up with all their news and then Rosie & Steve are also coming later in the month and we’re very much looking forward to seeing them too – Rosie is actually celebrating a big birthday whilst she’s here.
If you’re thinking of coming to see us, send my husband, Robin, your prospective dates and he’ll write straight back with our availability. If you have any queries, he’ll be pleased to help you with them. The whole booking procedure is very easy indeed and, when you eventually arrive at the airport, we’ll whisk you away and take you on a small tour of the surrounding area before bringing you to the hotel and plying you with a welcome drink.
We hope you’ll come to see us soon. Put us at the top of your list and make plans to enjoy yourselves as soon as possible. Don’t forget, tempus fugit!
Until the next time, take good care.
