1 June 2017
Flaming June has arrived! But, of course, the weather in Koh Samui is beautifully sunny most of the year. Not all, I hasten to add, but certainly most. And, when the sun shines here, the colours of the sky, sea, sand, trees and flowers are truly vibrant and the islanders smile even more than usual on their beautiful island of coconuts.
We’ve had a busy May with more than double the rooms we had last year and we’ve welcomed some fantastic guests, many of whom are loving it so much that they’re extending their stay and saying that they’ll definitely be back again. Des and Marilyn are here for the fourth year running and are so happy to be back. May is a lovely time to visit. The weather is good and it’s quieter too. Also, we’ve been giving a 10% reduction for May and June as well as September, October and November, so why don’t you take advantage of this opportunity too? If June is too short a notice, September is normally a lovely month. Why not think about it? I love September. Just send Robin an e-mail with your prospective dates to firstname.lastname@example.org and he’ll write straight back with our availability or book direct on our website’s Book Now page or even click on the Contact Us button on the same page.
If you haven’t been to see us yet, we have 18 rooms and bungalows all facing the beach and sea with a stupendous view of Koh Phangan and the outlying islands. We have lots of chairs and footstools around our saline pool and in our mature gardens, lots of sun beds on the beach, a bar sala, a massage sala, an outside as well as in inside cafe, a good menu with a cook to order breakfast, a library, great staff, marvellous guests and all just a saunter away from our charming village of Bophut which is full of great restaurants, bars and boutiques. We even have a Walking Street every Friday which is so popular that our guests often try to fit in as many Fridays as possible!
Regular guests Rosie & Steve have just booked yet again for next February, so they’re looking forward to seeing our wonderful February crowd. Peter & Dot, more regulars, very kindly took me out to dinner recently in Norwich, UK. We had a super evening and it was so lovely seeing them again. They’re coming back in February too. Another regular couple, Michael & Margaret usually stay in February, but poor old Michael is very sadly no more. We’ll greatly miss him and no doubt Margaret will not be up to coming on her own, but she’ll be with us in spirit, that’s for sure. Annie tells me that Jack is doing well and we hope they’ll also be able to come back around that time. They’re thinking of bringing Jack’s brother and sister-in-law too, so fingers crossed that Jack will be better.
If you’ve been on a holiday here and meant to give us a good review on Trip Advisor, we would ask you to please try and find five minutes to do so. It gives prospective guests much more of an idea, as you know, and helps us keep visible in the ratings. It’s a constant struggle trying to keep up with 5-stars who have 150 rooms or so. However, we know that our guests prefer our small and personal approach far more, so we’d love you to tell everybody! The more 5s we get, the more likely we are to move up. Anything lower can actually put us down which is ridiculous in my eyes. You would think a 4 would be good, but it actually affects us in a negative way. I wish we didn’t have to involve reviews at all, but social media is so important nowadays, isn’t it?
I hope that, wherever you are, you are making time to enjoy yourselves and very much hope that we’ll see you soon at our little hotel.
Until the next time, take very good care of yourselves.
